OCX Import Plugin v310
From schema to structure
Import maritime vessel structural data from OCX 3.1.0 files into Rhino 8. Panels, plates, stiffeners, brackets, pillars — 578 elements in 7.6 seconds. Zero failures.
02 — Structural Elements
Every element, every time
The plugin parses complex OCX XML, resolves geometry references, creates trimmed Brep surfaces, sweeps solid cross-sections, and organizes everything into Rhino's document structure.
Panels
Trimmed surface Breps from unbounded geometry + outer contour. Topology splitting via seam curves.
Plates
Individual plate Breps split from panel surfaces with 3-tier fragment matching by centroid.
Stiffeners
Swept solid Breps along trace lines with cross-section profiles. 16 bar section types.
Brackets
Plate-like Breps with outer contour geometry at panel-level and vessel-level.
Pillars
Swept solid Breps for vertical structural members, panel-level and vessel-level.
Connections
Cone markers at connection points plus sphere markers at penetrations.
03 — Processing Summary
Zero failures. Every time.
Imported from OCX test model TR02_TC09. 578 structural elements processed in 7.6 seconds with zero skipped, zero failed.

04 — The OCX Standard
Built on open standards
The Open Class 3D Exchange standard (OCX Schema v3.1.0) is maintained by the OCX Consortium at 3Docx.org. It provides an XML-based format for exchanging 3D ship structural data between design, classification, and construction systems.
The plugin implements full support for the v3.1.0 schema, parsing every structural element type defined in the specification with zero silent failures.

05 — Heritage
A tradition of precision
“The hand that drew the hull is the same hand that clicks Import.”
Maritime structural design has always been a craft of translation — from the imagination of the naval architect to the physical reality of steel and plate. The instruments change. The knowledge doesn't.
This plugin is the next instrument in a tradition that runs from hand-lofting floors to the drafting table to computer-aided design. It doesn't replace the master builder's knowledge — it gives that knowledge a digital instrument precise enough to meet it.
Mystic Bound Endeavors was founded by a career maritime design professional who built this plugin because no adequate OCX importer existed for Rhino. This is software by practitioners, for practitioners.

The lineage
What comes next
The OCX importer is the foundation. Nesting, NC cutting, plate flattening, FEM/FEA integration, and naval architecture tools are planned. One plugin suite, built for how you actually work.
